Fascinating geological formation, limestone pavements are the result of erosion due to running water on the surface of limestone type rocks. The foreground limestone pavements of this photograph reflect perfectly the geology of the mountains surrounding this beautiful valley of Derbon. The Tita Naire (2701m) which rises proudly in the background is a perfect example.
